The Department of Aging Services was established by Waushara County’s Board of Supervisors in 1974 and has since been providing a variety of helpful programs and services to older persons. The Department is committed to providing quality assistance to those older persons seeking to maintain their independence as they embrace their older years.
Guided by the principles established in the Older Americans Act, the Department of Aging Services provides its services to:
- Those of 60 or more years as well as their spouses;
- Those providing informal support for an older person;
- Eligible individuals who are disabled;
- And grandparents raising grandchildren.
All programs are funded in part by voluntary donations. No one is ever denied service due to an inability to contribute.
The Department of Aging Services is governed by the Commission on Aging, a representative body by which the voice of Waushara County’s elderly can be heard in regard to issues concerning them.
A committed staff is available to assist you with a variety of questions and concerns. We will be happy to hear from you!
